Love that Heat - Day 28

Finally a day that matches my vision of what living in California  feels like!

I can't help it, I love the heat.  The patio doors are fully opened,  the sun is shining, shorts and tank tops,  sleeping on top of the blankets.  I am in a good place.

Oh well.  By 3PM the fog has settled in and you can really feel the cool air.  Not so fun.
This calls for comfort foods......and may even work to my advantage???

The other very real event also taking place as we speak.
My reality -
Withdrawal in full swing:  During our wonderful week-end with the kids, visiting and touristing,  we also had amazing food.  Since the issue is not guilt ( the walking, climbing and steps took care of that )  what remains however, is the overwhelming craving for the plentiful carbs I treated myself to.  The amazing real Italian pasta and  the delicious sandwiches are very loud and constantly calling me. "White Carbs"  my whole body wants more of you…...

Hence…...
Pizza NIght!

Two weeks ago when we were visiting Gourmet Ghetto, I noticed a long line up to a small pizzeria.

There were tables lined up on the sidewalk, cafe style, so I was able to get a glimpse at what they were eating. This great looking pizza.  Now, for anyone who knows me well, they would tell you I am not a pizza girl at all.  These slices, they appealed to me.  Since then, I have not been able to put it out of my mind.  It was time to investigate.

The Pizza was awesome.  By the pizza I mean the only one on the menu.  That's right they make one flavour of pizza every day.  That's it.

We had:  Crimini mushrooms, Onions, French goat cheese, Mozzarella, Fresh herbs, Garlic Olive Oil.

It was awesome.  Even for the girl who does not really like pizza.  The crust was thin and crunchy with a perfect ratio of cheese and ingredients.  Cooked to perfection.

But the best part is that they give you a free mini slice with every slice you order :)

To enhance the experience they even have live music!  Great all around.

  1. The music was truly awesome. Nice jazz, the Sax player belting it out with both a Alto and Tenor sax - sometimes both at the same time :)
